The Department of Home Affairs is searching for a new cybersecurity shield to protect thousands of users and devices, as its current ageing and patchwork system runs up against a support cliff.
The department on Thursday approached the market for an extended detection and response (XDR) system that it wants deployed by the end of 2025 and ready for cutover in 12 months.
The solution needs to be able to detect and protect against threats and malware in real time and ensure integrity at a department that counts around 24,000 users and 44,000 endpoints like laptops, desktops and kiosk devices.
