Australian governments should double down on facilitation programs that dollar match funding for small and medium firms to work with researchers, new CSIRO analysis of the program outcomes shows.
The co-funded facilitation plays are delivering tangible results like new products and prototypes as part of an “immense value” to Australia’s innovation system.
But the new research also reveals policy makers can improve them and a slew of collaboration programs to close support gaps that are hurting growing firms.
