Fishermans Bend, Victoria’s long-awaited innovation precinct, has taken its first step towards becoming reality, with construction starting four years after the Victorian government’s initial tender.

Winslow Infrastructure has been appointed to complete the main works for Stage 1 of the Fishermans Bend Innovation Precinct (FBIP) at the former General Motors Holden site in Port Melbourne.

The state government named the firm as the successful tenderer over the weekend. It had originally expected this stage to begin on the site by the end of 2022 and for the ambitious precinct to be up and running by 2024.
