The Albanese government’s nod to sovereign capability as a driver of economic security in its second term agenda has been met by approval from Australian tech firms after years of championing the idea.
One of the country’s leading AI experts has also welcomed the development, as the technology ushers in a new economic paradigm and the government comes to terms with the opportunity.
“We can run an export industry in processing information in Australia,” Anton van den Hengel, the founding director of the Australian Institute for Machine Learning, told InnovationAus.com.
