Multi-national tech service suppliers for the government’s $1.2 billion aged care digital uplift booked lucrative extensions worth at least $67 million just months out from the planned go live date.
The technology launch has since been pushed back as part of a delay to the landmark aged care reforms revealed this week. It came after the sector warned it needed more time and information to get workers and systems ready.
The Department of Health, Disability and Ageing (DHDA) says its own technology upgrades were on track for the planned switchover on July 1, but the two month delay will be used to polish the new tech and give providers more time.
