Australia’s Industry and Innovation minister Tim Ayres has been confirmed to deliver a keynote address at the 2025 InnovationAus Awards for Excellence.
Senator Ayres, who is also the Minister for Science, has emerged as a key figure in the Albanese government’s second-term productivity agenda, with portfolio responsibility for policy settings in areas ranging from AI and data centres to advanced manufacturing and the CSIRO.
The InnovationAus Awards for Excellence is the nation’s premier tech and innovation awards program that will culminate in a gala black-tie dinner ceremony at the Sydney Town Hall in Sydney on November 27.
The awards put a spotlight on Australia’s most creative and successful entrepreneurs and researchers across a spectrum of different industries.

The awards are presented in front of 550 startup founders, policymakers and ministers, VC leaders, institutional researchers and senior government bureaucrats. It’s great night for networking across our horizontal ecosystem.
“There is some much policy discussion right now across different industries, across different government departments and across the economy right now,” said InnovationAus.com publisher Corrie McLeod.
“Minister Ayres is central to these discussions and it is a delight to have him speaking at the InnovationAus Awards again this year.”
The 2025 Innovation Awards for Excellence ceremony will be our biggest production yet. We will celebrate both the fifth year of hosting these awards, and InnovationAus.com’s 10th year of publishing.
The Awards celebrate the nation’s best people across 11 categories. You can find more details here.
Nominations are still open for a few more days for our two leadership categories: the Paul Shetler Disrupter of the Year Award and the Innovation Leadership Award.
The 2025 InnovationAus Awards for Excellence will be held on November 27 at the magnificent Sydney Town Hall. You can secure individual seats or book at table here.
The InnovationAus 2025 Awards for Excellence are proudly supported by ACS, PEXA Group, the CSIRO ON Program, Griffith Hack, TechnologyOne, Q-CTRL, National AI Centre and IP Australia.
