New South Wales’s Aboriginal Housing Office was using an antiquated excel spreadsheet system that wasn’t meeting its needs when it sought out an easier solution.
The agency landed on SmarterSoft’s no-code digital transformation platform to streamline its business processes into a customised, centralised cloud-based service.
According to a senior project and communication officer at the agency, the process “changed our lives”.
“Client record keeping is much more streamlined and intuitive,” they said.
“SmarterSoft seemed to have the best understanding of what we needed, out of the providers we interviewed.”
Previously the realm of large overseas tech vendors, SmarterSoft is looking to provide its simple solution to government organisations and the public sector, offering a solution tailored to the public sector at a lower cost.
SmarterSoft is based on 30 configurable “building blocks” that allow agencies to quickly adapt to policy, compliance and reporting changes without the need for complex IT projects.

SmarterSoft emerged from observations of the frustrations that government agencies faced with the Big IT vendor systems, Mr Scicluna said, and the company is now on a “mission to democratise enterprise-grade GovTech for the Australian government”.
