For global confectionary giant Nestle, millions of dollars hinge on decisions such as where to place products in a store.

Thanks to the use of augmented reality spatial computing technology, Nestle workers are able to walk through a virtual store to optimise product placement, before making any actual changes.

This has led to a 30 percent reduction in physical prototype costs.

Toyota is using similar technology, allowing its engineers to collaborate on the design of vehicles in immersive 3D environments.

This has increased design iteration times by 25 percent.

And spatial computing is also being used for Defence personnel training for mission-critical scenarios in risk-free virtual environments.

All of these examples involve the use of spatial computing and artificial intelligence technology developed by Sydney-based Vection Technologies, which is bringing spatial computing to businesses around the world.

Vection Technologies’ IntegratedXR Platform combines virtual reality, augmented reality and artificial intelligence to address real-world problems for businesses across manufacturing, healthcare, defence, retail and education.

It includes design and engineering solutions, training and operations systems, AI-powered conversational platforms, logistics optimisation and immersive retail experiences.

Vection Technologies is a finalist in the InnovationAus 2025 Awards for Excellence in the AI Technology category. The InnovationAus 2025 Awards for Excellence winners and finalists will be celebrated at a black-tie gala dinner at Sydney Town Hall on Thursday, November 27. You can book your tickets here.

The AI Technology Award is proudly sponsored by the National Artificial Intelligence Centre. The award celebrates companies developing novel tools, technology or methodologies that are helping Australia build sovereign capability in AI. It is focused on AI that isn’t just for the sake of AI, but that impacts, inspires and makes people’s lives better.

The IntegratedXR platform includes a range of services, including VR-powered design review and engineering collaboration tool Mindesk, and Algho AI, a generative AI service with conversational avatars and automation.

The company has enjoyed near-75 percent revenue growth, and has inked partnerships with HP and Dell, along with a 12-million euro research funding deal in Europe.

The 2025 InnovationAus Awards for Excellence will be held on November 27 at the magnificent Sydney Town Hall. You can secure individual seats or book a table here. Purchase a table of 10 and have your logo displayed on screens across the venue and in the event programme as a ‘Table Sponsor’.
