Fivecast has reinforced its position as one of Australia’s most formidable deep-tech exporters by claiming the Software Innovation Award at the 2025 InnovationAus Awards for Excellence.
Fivecast emerged victorious in the KPMG-sponsored category, outpacing contenders 4AI Systems, Cogito Group and Farmbot Monitoring Solutions, which together represent the strength of Australia’s sovereign software engineering ecosystem.
Fivecast’s win — the second time the company has won the Software Innovation category since the InnovationAus Awards began in 2021 — follows its AI Innovation Award win earlier at Thursday night’s black-tie gala at Sydney Town Hall.
Its flagship software, including ONYX for open-source intelligence and LUNEX for dark-web network mapping, delivers highly automated workflows capable of parsing billions of data points across distributed environments.
The judging panel praised both Fivecast’s AI capabilities and its sophisticated engineering: multi-region cloud architectures, sovereign-first design, high-performance data pipelines and behavioural analytics that allow analysts to focus on insights.
It is the kind of product architecture traditionally dominated by US and Israeli firms – yet Fivecast has proven that Australian-built software can compete, scale and export globally at the highest level.
