The University of Sydney has enlisted quantum computing expert Thomas Ohki to forge closer links with the burgeoning commercial sector while training a new generation of researchers.
Professor Ohki led research teams at Microsoft Quantum and Raytheon before joining the university in 2024 and spinning out his own company last year.
On Wednesday, he was appointed Professor of Practice of Quantum Technologies in the University of Sydney School of Physics.
