The federal government has recovered another $2.4 million from companies that received Modern Manufacturing Initiative grants, bringing total clawbacks from the Morrison-era program to more than $44 million.
Nearly $9 million in debts remain outstanding, with the Industry department still pursuing repayments from companies that abandoned or underspent on projects, officials told Senate Estimates on Thursday.
