Australia has leapfrogged the United Kingdom and Norway to claim second place in a global ranking of digital governments for the first time, reaching a benchmark set by the Coalition but abandoned by Labor.
Only South Korea ranked higher in the 2025 Digital Government Index, the third to be produced by the Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) since 2019.
