Two-year study into social media age ban gets underway

A two-year study into Australia’s world-first social media age ban is underway, with the findings set to inform a future legislative review and potentially shape how other countries move forward with their own laws.

The $1.6 million study will survey more than 4,000 parent-child pairs over the next six months to assess how social media companies are complying with the laws and what effect they are having on young people.
