NEXTDC and Firmus arm for AI with $1.7 billion raise

Two of Australia’s largest data centre developers have come back from the Easter break to announce a cumulative $1.7 billion finance raise, as artificial intelligence-driven demand for domestic compute power continues to soar.

Firmus and NEXTDC, which plan to build 2.6 GW of domestic data centre capacity between them before 2030, both announced separate financial deals backing their respective infrastructure builds on Tuesday.
