Australia’s first domestically built and operated electric passenger ferry will take to the Brisbane River by the end of the year, following a partnership between a local shipbuilder and a Swedish maritime giant.
Local shipbuilder Aus Ships will collaborate with car manufacturer Volvo’s maritime arm Volvo Penta to construct the vessel, utilising a $2 million grant from a CSIRO co-managed fund to bring the project to life.
