Gambling and tobacco firms finally booted from RDTI

Legislation preventing gambling and tobacco companies from receiving research and development tax breaks has passed Parliament more than 18 months after Treasurer Jim Chalmers flagged the crackdown.

Opposition, Greens and independent Senators united on Monday evening to pass the bill, which makes a number of other technical amendments to taxation law.
