Australia’s semiconductor industry is falling short of its economic potential, held back by gaps in its technology stack and the absence of a coordinated national strategy, according to a new discussion paper.
The paper, released this week, argues that the country lacks manufacturing capacity and robust supply chains, creating a “missing middle” that stops its strong research, design and materials capabilities translating into real growth.
