The only new industry-facing research funding in last year’s National AI Plan will sit locked away until 2028, raising fresh questions about the government’s commitment to the technology.
Announced in December, the AI Accelerator funding round was pitched as a vehicle to “accelerate the development and commercialisation of AI by businesses and researchers” through the existing Cooperative Research Centres program.
