Energy minister Chris Bowen says the government remains committed to building out Australia’s fledgling green hydrogen industry despite a series of project setbacks and a delay to the government’s flagship production program.
The government had anticipated awarding the first major funding from its $4 billion Hydrogen Headstart program by the end of last year to help large scale projects close the gap on market prices and production costs.
But no funding decisions have been announced and half the projects shortlisted for the government funding have collapsed or are facing serious doubts.
