Businesses offered crash course on AI ethics

Australian organisations are being urged to tighten their use of artificial intelligence with the application of ethics principles ahead of potentially sweeping changes to regulations and standards.

The CSIRO’s National Artificial Intelligence Centre on Thursday launched a how-to guide for bridging ethics principles and practice, after worrying signs businesses were still coming to grips with the basics of responsible use.

“Considering that AI has been on such an accelerating wave over the past, especially six-to-nine months, I think many organisations have only recently realised just what they don’t know,” National Artificial Intelligence Centre director Stela Solar told InnovationAus.com.
