Defence will give itself at least another year to retire its legacy systems, as it races to adopt modern cloud-based platforms across its IT environment and scale the use of AI agents.
In last year’s digital strategy, Defence set out plans to begin phasing out its legacy platforms in 2025, with the goal of largely completing the shift to “global platforms supported by best-in-class sovereign capability” by 2027.
