Gambling firms lobby for return to R&D tax breaks

The gambling lobby is demanding firms like Sportsbet and bet365 be eligible for Australia’s innovation tax breaks again, six months after the companies were locked out by the Albanese government.

The sector was excluded from the Research and Development Tax Incentive (RDTI) last December after transparency data revealed tens of millions of dollars’ worth of claims from the taxpayer funded scheme.
