NSW govt AI, ‘COPS’ upgrade face audits

The NSW government’s use of artificial intelligence is atop the state audit office’s work program this year, with whole of government policies for the technology and individual agency deployments to go under the microscope.

The Audit Office of NSW will also examine the state’s $1 billion procurement and roll out of a single digital health record and the police force’s botched upgrade of backend technology that ended up in court.

The Office’s three year audit work program also flags use of the state’s Digital Restart Fund and delivery of digital service – once considered the nation’s best – for closer looks.
