NSW to unshackle data centre approvals in productivity drive

The NSW Treasurer has flagged changes to drive down planning approval times after finding productivity driving projects like energy and data centres were being held up more than a year longer than other states.

Treasurer Daniel Mookhey on Wednesday revealed he had recently requested a productivity screening on the top 25 private sector business investments that are currently in the planning system.

It came back with “interesting” results.
