The federal Industry department has moved to correct the record after reports an Irish AI startup has joined the government’s generational review of Australia’s research and development system.
The department, which already has an expert panel and external policy advice procured for the review, was surprised to read “AI engine” Kreoh had also been “engaged” for its Strategic Examination of Research and Development (SERD).
It has not been engaged by Australian government for the SERD or received any individual outreach from the government, with the confusion appearing to stem from reporting of the startup’s press release.
