Rowland escalates smart glasses as privacy priority


Cheap smart glasses from Kmart have forced Australia’s stalled privacy law reforms back into focus, with the federal government pressing the national regulator to urgently assess whether further intervention is warranted.

Attorney-General Michelle Rowland wrote to Privacy Commissioner Carly Kind on Thursday asking her to give “priority consideration” to smart glasses and the privacy implications they raise, particularly for women and children.
