SA’s space integration centre still light years away

A $20 million space manufacturing facility backed by the South Australian government will take at least another three years to complete, with construction only now set to get underway.

The Australian Space Assembly and Integration Centre was first promised in 2023, with the state government repurposing money it had set aside years earlier to build the Australian Space Park.

The Space Park, a proposal led by Fleet Space Technologies and a consortium of other local space and quantum companies, was envisaged as the country’s first dedicated space manufacturing hub.
