State missions, manufacturing to guide NSW industry reset

The NSW government will on Wednesday launch its first industry policy, establish hard manufacturing targets and launch three ambitious state missions to set a clearer strategic vision for a reshaped economy.

The missions in housing, net zero, and local manufacturing launch a bid to use some of the state’s biggest challenges as a catalyst for change and a more diversified economy.

Automation technologies and modular construction will be prioritised, for example, to encourage more supply and lower housing costs, while the net zero mission will home in on critical minerals and green hydrogen to take advantage of shifting energy systems.
