The renowned Australian physicists that paved the way for Microsoft’s quantum technologies have unveiled their own venture aimed at bridging the gap between deep tech and the budding commercial market.
Emergence Quantum, or ‘EQ’, was launched on Thursday by co-founders Dr Thomas Ohki and Professor David Reilly as a new research and development firm built to straddle the academic and commercial worlds.
The founders are supported by the University of Sydney and have resisted venture capital to focus on launching with customers and partners in place, including helping Sydney startup Diraq’s quest for a fault tolerant quantum computer.
