Australian companies that scale into global businesses could be excluded from a planned carve out of capital gains tax increases, even while still growing their local headcount and investments.
It is a perverse but likely outcome of Treasury’s plan to limit the carve out to firms that have at least half their staff and assets in Australia, according to the Tech Council of Australia.
