The federal government has quietly, almost silently, appointed four new directors to the board of Industry, Innovation and Science Australia (IISA) to fill vacancies that had been open for a year.
This quiet announcement – by the department via a LinkedIn post – of four relatively low-profile new directors is in stark contrast to the IISA board’s heritage.
The composition of that original Innovation and Science Australia (as it was then called) board, which was chaired by the father of VC in this country Bill Ferris with chief scientist Alan Finkel as deputy, was trumpeted with great fanfare by the then Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull.
