The biggest upgrade to Australia’s frontline defence against deadly pathogens will begin within months, with new ultra secure biosecurity labs to be built and existing infrastructure upgraded at a CSIRO facility in Victoria.
The science agency last month inked a $282 million design and construction deal for the work after securing Parliamentary approval on the upgrades to the Australian Centre for Disease Preparedness (ACDP).
