US startup Groq unveils high-speed AI hub in Sydney


AI chip startup Groq has established its first data centre presence in Australia as part of an expected US$300 million investment to bring its technology closer to Asia-Pacific users.

The California-based company’s deployment of custom AI inference chips at Equinix’s largest Sydney data centre, SY5, follows similar moves in Europe earlier this year to cut latency times for users.
