The Queensland government’s new $1 billion digital fund is prioritising Software-as-a-Service and common platforms under the watch of a handful of public servants and a highly paid consultant.
The state government is also banking on its $41 million SAP upgrade – one of the first tests of its new shared technology services model — paying for itself in a decade and insists the new platform won’t cost anyone their job.
At Budget Estimates on Friday, new details about the Queensland Government Digital Fund emerged, including that almost $1 million has already been earmarked for a consultant.
