NSW Department of Customer Service secretary Graeme Head will take the helm of the National Disability Insurance Agency following a national search.
Mr Head, who begins his three-year term as chief executive on November 24, takes over from Rebecca Falkingham, whose tenure concludes after two years leading the agency.
He was the inaugural National Disability Insurance Scheme Quality and Safeguards commissioner between 2018 and 2021. For the last two years, Mr Head has led the NSW Department of Customer Service, a large agency with an extensive technology program.
As NDIA chief executive, he will oversee daily operations and administration of the NDIS, working with chair Kurt Fearnley.
Climate policy and public administration leader Kath Rowley has been appointed chief executive officer of the Climate Change Authority for a five-year term beginning in December.
Ms Rowley will work alongside chair and former NSW Treasurer Matt Kean to fulfil the Authority’s role of providing independent and transparent climate policy advice to government.
