‘A bailout in all but name’: Opposition slams Arnott’s debt deal

A $45 million government loan for Arnott’s Group to futureproof its production lines has been slammed as “a bailout” by the Opposition, with the iconic biscuit maker refusing to say how the money will be spent.

The National Reconstruction Fund Corporation on Monday announced it would chip in to Arnott’s Group’s broader $1.75 billion debt refinancing effort, saying the investment met one of its seven priority areas.
