Prime Minister Anthony Albanese is facing calls to seize a rare opportunity to send Australia’s only active astronaut Katherine Bennell-Pegg to space, after the European Space Agency put the offer of a joint mission on the table.
As the government continues to negotiate what would be only the second ESA agreement with a non-European nation, Mr Albanese has received a formal written offer of a spaceflight from the European agency.
