The federal government will review the laws underpinning Australia’s triple zero net, more than two years after a catastrophic Optus outage first exposed gaps in the emergency call system.
Communications minister Anika Wells announced the review on Tuesday, describing it as the key step to “rebuilding public confidence” and preventing the risk of future emergency call outages.
