An independent review has uncovered “fundamental flaws” in the federal government’s data sharing scheme, paving the way for a sweeping overhaul of laws introduced just four years ago to open up public data.
The final report from a year-old review, led by Productivity Commissioner Stephen King and tabled on Tuesday, reveals major concerns with a scheme that has “not yet driven material additional sharing of Commonwealth data”.
