Sydney’s data hunger triggers $1.5bn NextDC fund raise

NextDC is poised to nearly double its capital investment in a year, and will raise an additional $1.5 billion to fast-track new Western Sydney facilities in response to an “unprecedented” surge in domestic demand.

Announcing the fresh equity raise in a statement to the ASX on Monday, NextDC boasted new contracts for 417MW of data centre capacity added since December and a quadrupling of its order book since last June.
