Australia presses Washington to lift AUKUS tech transfer


Australia is pressing US lawmakers to include new AUKUS technology transfer provisions in defence legislation that could pass this year, in a move that would extend the reach of the existing licence-free sharing environment.

Efforts are underway to use the National Defense Authorization Act for the Fiscal Year 2027, the annual US defence policy bill, to deepen the flow of defence and dual-use technology between the three partner nations.
