The head of the NSW public service Simon Draper will take the reins of the federal Industry department in September, after its longtime secretary Meghan Quinn was promoted to Defence in May.
The move was announced by NSW Premier Chris Minns on Thursday, forcing a reshuffle in the state’s senior bureaucracy and putting Mr Draper in control of the $3 billion Department of Industry, Science, and Resources.
