Australia’s innovators, entrepreneurs and technology pioneers: it’s time to put your achievements in the spotlight! Entries are now open for the InnovationAus Awards for Excellence 2027, recognising the companies turning Australian research and ideas into technologies that industry can use, adopt and scale.

Returning in February 2027, the awards bring a renewed focus to one of Australia’s most pressing challenges: translating great technology into the capability that will drive our next wave of productivity and growth.

As AI, deep tech and changing national priorities reshape the economy, our awards program has taken time to reset. Our focus now is on the companies commercialising innovation and expanding its impact through stronger industries, more resilient supply chains and technologies that support Australia’s security and prosperity.

Moving the gala dinner to the start of the calendar year also sets the stage for a productive year ahead, bringing together the people developing Australian capability and those who can help put it to work.

“Australia has no shortage of great ideas. The challenge is turning them into technologies that our industries can adopt and businesses can scale,” said InnovationAus.com publisher Corrie McLeod.

“We want to recognise the companies doing that work, celebrate the people behind them and help build the connections that take their impact further.”

Previous awards recipients include BlockTexx, Synchron, Sea Forest, DroneShield and Q-CTRL – a rollcall that reflects the breadth of Australian ingenuity and the ambition of the companies bringing it to market.

For the next generation of contenders, the awards offer a national stage to showcase their achievements, gain recognition from leading industry figures and build credibility with the people who matter to their growth.

It is also an opportunity to raise a company’s profile, connect with potential investors and partners, and join a community of innovators tackling some of Australia’s biggest opportunities and challenges.

Early bird entries are open until Friday October 16, with a fee of $100 + GST per entry. There is also a 50 per cent discount on multiple entries in different categories. Final submissions close on Friday October 30.

The celebrations will culminate in a black-tie gala on Thursday February 18, 2027, at Sydney’s Rosebery Hall by The Grounds. Bringing together leaders from government, industry, finance and research, the evening will celebrate the companies and people helping shape Australia’s future. Tickets and tables are available now.

The Australian Computer Society is the Platinum Sponsor of the 2027 InnovationAus Awards for Excellence, with the CSIRO ON Program and Griffith Hack also supporting the program.
