The Department of Finance has launched a tool to track labour hire staff and management consultants across government, promising a new layer of integrity after a sprawl of temporary workers and a string of scandals.
The Contractor Reporting, Integrity Information Solution (CRIIS) was launched late last month as a centralised platform connecting agencies, suppliers and individual contractors engaged under some panel arrangements.
For the first time, the government will have a centralised record of contractors, where they are working and what they do, as well as collecting documents like work orders and timesheets.
