Cyber Security NSW handed an $87.7m Budget lifeline

Cyber Security NSW will receive $87.7 million over the next four years, securing its place as the state’s cybersecurity agency as work on a plan to lift cyber maturity across government continues.

Tuesday’s Budget reveals the four-year funding package, ending years of funding uncertainty that began with a decision by the former government not to fund the agency past 2024-25.

A $70 million shortfall in funding was uncovered shortly after the Minns government arrived in office in March 2023, contributing to Budget pressures that persist two years later.
