Big four consulting firm EY will be paid another $7.7 million to provide IT data and analytics services to the tax office after it extended a lucrative contract that has grown nine-fold since 2021.
The Australian Taxation Office last month awarded the consulting giant a six-month extension to the contract, listed only as for the “provision of ICT professional services”, bringing its total value to $92.7 million.
It is the sixth time the contract, which was first signed in June 2021 for $11.4 million, has been extended by the ATO and comes amid a spotlight on the ‘land and expand’ approach taken by consultancies.
