Greens’ tech maven takes party leadership

The Greens have vowed to stare down “US tech billionaires” and “replace” Labor under new leader David Shoebridge, who emerged victorious on Wednesday from a closely contested leadership race.

The NSW Senator has owned the progressive party’s tech policy and digital rights efforts in recent years, and will lead the party with deputy Senator Steph Hodgins-May, a former industry and innovation spokesperson for the Greens.
