Big Four consulting giant PwC has been given the all clear to resume bidding for new federal government work, leading to outrage from three senators pushing to keep the embattled firm blacklisted.
The Department of Finance reveled the widely expected decision in a report published late on Thursday, ending a month-long examination that found the company had “significantly improved its ethical operation” in the wake of the tax leaks scandal.
The decision comes almost two weeks after reports first emerged that Finance had lifted the ban, opening the door to new work for the embattled consultancy locked out of procurement for more than 12 months.
