Husic unveils draft National Science and Research Priorities

The Albanese government has issued its draft National Science and Research Priorities for consultation to focus research and funding on a set of defining challenges over the coming decade, including Australia’s transition to net zero.

The draft priorities paper, which also incorporates First Nations knowledge on science for the first time, has been informed through a 12-month review led by Australia’s chief scientist Dr Cathy Foley.

Industry and Science minister Ed Husic will unveil the paper on Thursday, paving the way for government to release a final set of national science priorities before the end of the year.
