Two Melbourne firms have secured almost $32 million in contracts from Defence’s high tech accelerator to develop counter-drone platforms, as Labor announces it will pour $7 billion into drone mitigation capabilities over the decade.
The contracts — $21.3 million for AIM Defence and $10.4 million for SYPAQ Systems — come from the Advanced Strategic Capabilities Accelerator’s (ASCA) Mission Syracuse, a two-year program for nascent counter-drone technologies.
